Works with GENIVI™ Products

The Works with GENIVI™ program allows member companies to participate in GENIVI’s compliance activities by registering individual software components, packages, or applications that run on compliant platforms. Works with GENIVI measures only a target portion of the full In-Vehicle-Infotainment software functionality (navigation, for example) and members who produce only a portion of a complete platform or an application can gain recognition for meeting target functionality defined in the GENIVI Compliance Specification. The products listed below have been registered as Works with GENIVI.

Arynga

Arynga’s Intelligent Vehicle Software/Firmware Management System:  CarSync™ 1.0

CarSync 1.0, comprised of three separate modules including the CarSync Release Package Tool (CRPT), CarSync Management System (CMS), and the CarSync In-Vehicle Gateway (CIVG), is an end‐to‐end configuration management solution for maintaining and distributing software/firmware updates to vehicle Electronic Control Units (ECUs).

The CarSync update process is done remotely through a secure, controlled, efficient, and robust methodology capable of servicing a large number of cars at once.  First, the CRPT receives and packages update files using Arynga’s proprietary DIFF engine. Verified and secure files are then sent over-the-air to the CMS, responsible for configuration management processes and execution, and then to the CIVG, for final validation, verification, and distribution of updates to designated vehicle ECUs. 

With CarSync’s robust update methodology, and additional capability to derive useful data analytics, OEMs can ensure the integrity of software throughout the lifetime of a vehicle, subsequently reducing warranty and recall costs caused by software glitches, and improving customer satisfaction through the delivery of a reliable, enhanced, and connected driving experience. 

This functionality is integrated with the Tizen 1.0 Release for the Intel Atom based NexCom Telematics Development Kit (model: NDiS 166). Additionally this functionality is integrated and tested on Tizen 2.x, 3.x (NDiS 166), QNX (Freescale iMX6), Ubuntu 12.x (Freescale iMX6 and x86)

Bosch SoftTec mySPIN – App Launcher

mySPIN is an easy way to link Smartphones to vehicles’ infotainment systems. Once the Smartphone is linked up to mySPIN, Apps can be operated through the vehicle’s touch screen.  If the head unit has integrated the mySPIN adapter, apps can be added without requiring head unit modifications. The mySPIN adapter controls the communication with Smartphones and provides the image rendering process. In addition, the mySPIN adapter sends vehicle data from the head unit. This opens the possibility to integrate CRM (customer relationship management) and Telematics including Diagnosis.

The mySPIN adapter is currently able to run iOS and Android communication protocols (others to come, e.g. Windows, Firefox), which use a Launcher App with integrated mySPIN.SDK. The system has a similar look and feel on both iOS and Android platforms. OEM Branding and customization / skinning are possible.  Adapting an app for mySPIN requires minimal effort. This guarantees that users’ favorite apps will become available in the mySPIN eco system.  mySPIN opens a window to the driver for OE suppliers and offers personalized one or two-way communication with the customer.

mySPIN supported automotive operating systems: Linux Ubuntu 12.04 32 und 64 Bit; Ubuntu 13.10, Debian Wheezy, Fedora 17, Freescale Linaro , Mentor Linux, Intel/Tizen Linux, QNX Neutrino 6.5.0 (others to come, e.g. Windows CE). Jungo Ltd
