Gen3Flex is a highly scalable platform that can be used for all segments from Entry, Mid to High end IVI systems. It is a flexible platform that allows easy integration of new components and can be ported to different System on Chip. It is designed to keep up with fast growing CE trends and provides mechanisms for safety and security.  Gen3Flex not only integrates GENIVI components in fact it makes use of these components for IVI systems in most efficient and robust way, enabling our mother companies to do rapid development and save time to market. Gen3Flex is a common platform of Robert Bosch Car Multimedia GmbH and Denso Corporation, and is only available to OEMs through their products.

Canonical Ubuntu IVI Remix

The Ubuntu IVI Remix is based on Ubuntu Core, a sub set of Ubuntu technologies suited for the next generation of Internet-enabled embedded devices such as IVI systems. It supports both Intel and ARM-based microprocessors, allowing software development to easily target platforms using either architecture.

The Ubuntu IVI Remix also supports Ubuntu One, a personal cloud service that enables users to access their personal media and stream their music from anywhere in the world. Ubuntu One's APIs are fully open allowing developers to take advantage of innovation in loud technology in future designs to deliver advanced capabilities into IVI solutions.

Freescale Steed for i.MX6 Series

As the one of the largest automotive semiconductor suppliers and a core member of the GENIVI alliance, Freescale aims to further streamline and focus efforts for infotainment partners and has purpose built the i.MX 6 Series applications processors with this in mind. The i.MX 6 Series processors combine high performance, 2D and 3D graphics, high definition video capabilities, and integrated power management, making them ideal for use in developing multimedia applications, including next-generation IVI systems. Integrating one, two or four ARM® Cortex™-A9 cores, the i.MX 6 Series processors are further distinguished by software, pin and tools compatibility across the entire family, allowing for reduced design cycles and time to market.  With the addition of the i.MX 6 Series processors, OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers continue to rely on Freescale’s key automotive partnerships, support infrastructure, long-term manufacturing culture, and dedication to delivering advanced technology for IVI solutions.  The GENIVI compliant Steed release for the i.MX 6 Series is meant to serve as a baseline for development of higher level GENIVI SDKs and platforms, enabling faster time to market of GENIVI based IVI solutions.

Linux Foundation MeeGo IVI Project

MeeGo IVI is a true open-source solution for next generation in-vehicle infotainment systems built on Linux. It is architected from the ground up with connected mobile devices in mind providing essential features such as fast boot, power efficiency, small footprint, networking and telephony stacks. Together with its build infrastructure and application development SDK it provides the ideal platform to jump-start development on various hardware platforms including Intel® architecture and ARM. OEMs, Tier 1s and OSVs can extend and modify the MeeGo IVI platform to their requirements while getting the most return on investment by leveraging an open and maintained platform. MeeGo IVI follows a strong roadmap with a twice a year release cadence integrating the latest but proven Linux technologies such as SystemD, BTRFS, Wayland, etc. into a production-ready platform.

Magneti Marelli "Linux Platform for Infotainment and Navigation"

The Magneti Marelli “Linux Platform for Infotainment and Navigation” is the first GENIVI compliant Infotainment Platform from a Tier 1.

The platform, result of a three-year investment, is a flexible product that permits Magneti Marelli to address custom IVI requirements from different OEMs.
It runs on automotive hardware including Vehicle Network Communication, radio DSP and amplifier, automotive power supply.

The perimeter of the platform includes components up to the middleware layer and address CE Connectivity, Internet Browsing, Wireless Connection, Full Multimedia, Radio and Audio Management, Automotive Lifecycle, Upgrade and Diagnostic.

The platform also provides a framework for integration of ISV (Independent Software Vendor) solution for HMI, Navigation, Voice recognition and TTS (Text To Speech).

It also leverages a large eco-system of leading technology providers’ set-up by Magneti Marelli. The ecosystem is mostly based on GENIVI members and guarantees the availability of a relevant number of developers already familiar with the platform to sustain future evolutions.

Production starts in 2013.

Mentor Embedded IVI Base Platform

The Mentor Embedded IVI Base Platform provides a GENIVI compliant foundation for in-vehicle infotainment software development. The IVI Base Platform integrates graphics, communication and multimedia middleware with libraries, system infrastructure, and management components on top of Linux and relevant drivers. When combined with Mentor Embedded development tools and expert services, automotive OEMs and their suppliers have a comprehensive solution for building the next generation of IVI systems on open source software. MontaVista Automotive Technology Platform (ATP)

Leveraging MontaVista's 10+ years of Embedded Linux experience, the MontaVista Automotive Technology Platform (ATP) contains hardened frameworks for graphics, video, sound, USB, Bluetooth, Location Based Services, security, customizable UI and much more. The MontaVista ATP is highly tuned in the areas of performance, ultra fast boot and power management on select automotive-specific platforms based on ARM and Intel® Atom™-based architectures. NVIDIA, the leader in visual computing, offers  Tier 1 and OEM customers a fully GENIVI compliant platform solution for IVI integration. NVIDIA’s Vibrante products are distribution-agnostic Platform Development Kits for the award-winning Tegra system-on-a-chip (SoC), providing out-of-the box acceleration of 3D graphics and multimedia in an automotive grade package. The Vibrante PDK enables Tier 1s to develop compelling, complete and delightful IVI solutions on top of popular Linux distributions, rapidly and efficiently turning the GENIVI compliant foundation of Vibrante into a complete IVI solution tailored to the OEM customers’ needs.

Open Infotainment Platform

The international automotive supplier Continental has developed a GENIVI based infotainment platform. From basic versions for compact vehicles to mid-range and luxury vehicles the platform allows for scalable infotainment systems. In addition to radio, audio management, 3D navigation and connectivity, the basic functions of the infotainment platform will also include an internet browser and access to internet services such as weather forecasts and traffic information.  As with a smart phone the platform allows drivers to download new services and updates from a specific package, enjoying the very latest features on their infotainment system throughout the entire lifecycle of their vehicles.

A software development kit will enable third-party providers to develop applications for the infotainment platform and, following in-depth quality and safety checks, add them to the products on offer.  Touch-sensitive interfaces, handwriting recognition, gesture control and voice will make the operation of the head-unit intuitive, safe and attractive. Drivers and passengers can also connect external devices to the head unit via Bluetooth, USB or WLAN to make use of the car’s internet connection or simply to play music stored on their devices via the car's audio system.

Pelagicore

Ubuntu Core IVI is a select set of Ubuntu technologies suited for the next generation of Internet-enabled embedded devices. It supports both Intel and ARM-based microprocessors, allowing software development to easily target platforms using either architecture.  Pelagicore has extended Ubuntu Core to the IVI market with the addition of GENIVI compliance, bringing a truly Open Source GNU/Linux distribution to the automotive industry. With Ubuntu comes a huge ecosystem of applications and developers with a wide variety of expertise from the Linux kernel to User Interface  -- all Open Source.

Renesas Electronics Platform for IVI

Supporting our market leading position in the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) segment, Renesas Electronics has developed a Linux software environment that supports the GENIVI compliant packages. This software environment runs on the Renesas “Marzen” or “Milan” board, which is based on the R-Car H1 (Quad Cortex A9 @ 1GHz + IMG SGX543MP2 GPU) or R-Car M1A SoC (Cortex A9 + IMG SGX540 GPU). As a tested, fully compliant platform, this will serve as a perfect starting point for evaluation and development on all devices in the R-Car family.  Renesas Electronics further enhances the value by offering an evaluation version of a full 3D graphic HMI application package.

The STC IVI Platform is a Genivi Ubuntu compliant Linux distribution that may be used in modern car infotainment systems. It provides full support for modern multimedia technologies like hands free protocols (via Bluetooth), device mirroring (e.g. RealVNC/MirrorLink), multi-channel audio, graphics hardware acceleration, wireless connectivity, automatic upgrade etc. It has be prepared for the iMX6 board family, but its flexible and advised architecture allows to port&run our platform on newer and older ARM devices.
